Police Fires on Demonstrators in Pakistan (TLP). Police opened fire on supporters of Tahrik-i Lebbeyk Pakistan Party (TLP) in Pakistan, killing 3 people and injuring at least 50 people.
In Pakistan, the protests that started after the arrest of Tahrik-i Lebbeyk Pakistan Party (TLP) Chairman Sahibzada Saad Hussain Rizvi continue. TLP supporters descended on the street in the city of Lahore and attacked the police with stones and Molotov cocktails. Police responded to the demonstrators with real bullets. 3 TLP supporters lost their lives and 50 people were injured in the incidents that occurred near Multan Road. It was reported that there were 11 policemen among the injured.
Lahore Police Spokesperson announced that the injured officers were taken to the hospital for treatment, using the expressions “Workers attacked the police with Molotov cocktails”. The spokesperson stated that a group of TLP supporters raided the Nawankot police station and held 5 police officers and 2 guards hostage for hours.
In Pakistan, protests erupted in many cities of the country following the detention of TLP President Rizvi, who recently called for the expulsion of the French ambassador. TLP supporters set the vehicles on fire, 3 people were killed and at least 40 police officers were injured in the incidents.
