What is STEM? STEM education is an interdisciplinary and application-oriented teaching system that aims to integrate four important disciplines such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It is an abbreviation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
S cience (science), T echnology ( Technology), E ngineering (Engineering), and M athematics (Mathematics) consists of the word. It is a program created by the combination of these 4 disciplines that enable students to experience the subjects they have seen in theoretical lessons with different applications.
What are the Goals of STEM Education?
STEM is a concept that emerged in the 1950s. Since their debut, countries have turned to this field with the idea of leading and developing. Importance has been attached to the development in science, the training of scientists based on development in technology, and technology. In line with these purposes, although there are different opinions according to countries, their common goal is to ensure that the studies are sustainable for the future of their country. It has been integrated into education systems by aiming at providing children with production-oriented skills at an early age.
The aim is; To benefit the economy of the country by creating a new product by using Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields together When considered in this context, it is to take an active role in the future of the country. We can state that STEM education has two main objectives. The first of these aims is to increase the number of students who will choose a profession in these disciplines at the university level, and the second is to increase the basic knowledge level of students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines and to enable them to apply creative solutions in their daily lives to solve problems related to these disciplines. To summarize, STEM education; We can specify it as an interdisciplinary learning approach and helping in choosing a profession.

In addition to being production-oriented, STEM education includes 21st Century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, innovation, problem solving, Productivity and Responsibility. If we need to state in terms of items, the abilities gained by STEM education;
